Course Description
In today’s educational environments, conflicts can arise among students, teachers, and even within the broader school community. These challenges easily can hinder learning, create tension, and disrupt the harmony of the school. To build a peaceful and productive school environment, teachers must go beyond traditional teaching methods and develop skills in mindful mediation and conflict resolution. such as:
- Building a Peaceful School Environment.
- Regulate emotions, and respond to conflicts with compassion and understanding.
- Prevent conflicts by cultivating a positive and peaceful school atmosphere.
Through engaging activities, role-playing scenarios, teachers will gain the competence to handle conflicts with grace and create an environment where every student feels valued and supported.
This course is offered by O’CONNOR Language and Communication (OID: E10383888) in collaboration with Babylon Academy in Ulm (Germany).
Objectives
The course employs a blended, interactive approach to ensure that participants not only understand the concepts but also apply them effectively in real-life scenarios.
Learning outcomes:

Target Group
This course is designed for educators of all levels as well as individuals interested in this topic.
Learning Outcomes
- Participants will engage in hands-on activities such as role-plays and group exercises to practice mediation and conflict resolution skills.
- Guided mindfulness exercises,breathing techniques, meditative reflection, will be integrated throughout the course to enhance emotional regulation.
- Real-world case studies will be analyzed through group discussions to identify effective conflict resolution strategies.
- Short, focused presentations will provide foundational knowledge of mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
Assessment Methods
- Active involvement in discussions, activities, and mindfulness practices will be observed and assessed.
- Participants will be assessed on their ability to mediate conflicts in role-playing scenarios, demonstrating skills such as active listening, neutrality, and constructive communication.
- Examples include leading a peer mediation session, conducting a workshop for students, or introducing mindfulness practices in the classroom.

*The language of the course is English, linguistic aid may be provided for speakers of Hungarian with lower language abilities.
Conditions
The course complies with all rules as set in the Quality Standards of the Erasmus+ program. Extracurricular activities are in addition to the lessons, and study groups are international. Note: should the latter condition not be met, participants will be informed 40 days in advance.
Payment facilities: participants with funding from the actual year’s project budget may ask to request a deposit of EUR 100 to guarantee their places on the course and pay the rest of the fees later.
It is possible to take part in 2 consecutive courses, please book both separately. A price reduction of 15% will be applied.
