Course Description
The Ordinary Habits and Well-Being course is intended for teachers who are interested in and committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and well-being.
The aim of the course is to promote a healthy lifestyle and well-being in education, in line with UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals. The program places special emphasis on the 3rd sustainability goal – “Good Health and Well-being – Ensure healthy life and promote well-being for all, at all ages” which serves to encourage healthy life and well-being. The training emphasizes the importance of emotional well-being and a healthy lifestyle by learning about well-being best practices.
It implements all of this by dividing it into five topics. Along these lines, it provides comprehensive knowledge about the formation of habits, their positive effects, and their integration into the daily practice of teachers.
Objectives
Recognize the role of habits and understand their impact on teachers’ well-being, job satisfaction, and personal lives.
Illustrate the connection between habit change and well-being through examples and case studies.
Apply strategies to enhance personal well-being, with an emphasis on prioritizing self-care.
Explore opportunities for creating a positive educational environment through habit formation.
Target Group
This course is designed for educators of all levels as well as individuals interested in the topic.
Learning Outcomes
The purpose of the training is to support teachers in learning about and applying the topic of everyday habits and well-being, both in their own and their students’ everyday lives. Teachers will be able to incorporate wellness habits into their own lives, school practices, and help their students develop healthy, sustainable habits.
Applied methodology:
Cooperative learning organization
The teachers use cooperative methods, group and pair work during the training. This form of learning organization enables active cooperation between participants, defining and achieving common goals, and sharing and expanding knowledge. Cooperative work strengthens group cohesion and the commitment of individual teachers.
Participants watch and analyze a video of microteaching.
Learning Programme and Tasks
The training is divided into five meetings and takes place within the framework of project work. At each meeting, the participants develop a specific, practical task on the topic of everyday habits and well-being. As the meetings progress, the project will become more and more complex, thus ensuring teachers’ gradual learning, immersion and practical experience.
Reflective learning
Each time, the participants reflect on the learning experiences of the previous meeting, their own habits, and their newly acquired knowledge. Reflective exercises (e.g. diary writing, sharing in pairs, group reflection discussions) help the participants to become aware of their own strengths and areas for improvement. In this way, not only new knowledge is recorded, but also the personal and professional development of teachers is supported.
